Buses Get Street Cred

New York City buses are generally the forgotten cousin in a city of subways. Yet, the bus system is one of the most cost effective ways to quickly improve mass transit. One group of Pratt Design Management students analyzed international best practices and evolving technology and social behaviors in order to develop recommendations for the New York City bus system. By utilizing GPS technology, cell phones and social media, the authors suggest means by which to improve the experience of waiting for the bus as well as the efficiency of the driving route.
